Display and
Configuration
HTC desire 300
has large 4.3 inches WVGA (480 x 800) pixels resolution TFT display with 16M
colour depth on the Desire 300 provides a pleasant visual experience. The
device runs on the latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. With regards to processing,
the device possesses sufficient power thanks to 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4
dual core processor and 512MB RAM. Gaming is easy on the Desire 300 due to the
capabilities of the Adreno 320 GPU.
Camera and Storage
Shutterbugs need not worry, since the device comes with a
5MP rear camera with LED flash and autofocus. The 0.3MP front camera provides
video calling facility, Skype, etc . Internal storage is sufficient at 4GB, and
can be expanded using microSD card, up to 64GB.
Connectivity and
Battery
The device possesses good connectivity options, including
3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS (with A-GPS) support and microUSB connectivity. A
decent 1650mAh Li-ion battery provides 11 hours of talktime on 3G networks, and
625 hours of standby time.
Verdict: HTC is known for releasing handsets that are
good on all fronts. The Desire 300, with its good Dual Core processor, good
rear camera, great connectivity options and equally good memory, is no
exception. If there is anything else to desire, it may be a display with qHD or
higher resolution, but that does not necessarily mean the WVGA resolution is
poor. In fact, given its other specs, this device is sure to prove highly
desirable in its price segment.
