The Samsung
Galaxy Mega Plus is an updated version of the Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8. It
sports the same 5.8-inch TFT display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels and
runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. The extra-large phone is powered by a 1.2GHz
quad-core processor along with 1.5GB of RAM.
The Samsung Galaxy Mega Plus carries the regular Galaxy series design,
and comes with one physical and two capacitive buttons below the display. At
183.5 grams, we can’t term the device as lightweight, but it looks sleek at
8.9mm.
Camera
and storage
The Samsung Galaxy Mega Plus offers an 8MP auto focus rear camera with
LED flash, and a 1.9MP front camera. The rear camera can click still images of
up to 3,264 x 2,448 Pixels and the front camera can output a max of 1592 x 1192
Pixels. The Galaxy Mega packs in an internal storage of 8GB, which can be
expanded via the microSD card slot available.
Connectivity
and battery
The Samsung Galaxy Mega Plus comes with a host of connectivity features
like 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS with GLONASS, Bluetooth, USB port etc. The show is backed
up by a 2,600mAh battery.
Verdict
The Samsung Galaxy Mega Plus is an extra-large device, which is
suitable if you need ample real estate in your mobile phone to watch movies or
play games. It also scores pretty well on other fronts like performance, camera
and battery backup.
