Display and Design 

The Samsung Galaxy S3 Slim sports a TFT capacitive multi touchscreen with a qHD (540 x 960 pixels) resolution, 16M colors, a rich pixel density of 244 ppi and TouchWiz UI. The presence of sensors like proximity, accelerometer and compass provides a better viewing experience. As the name suggests, it is slimmer than its original version, the Samsung Galaxy S3. However, its thickness of 9.7mm is more than many other smartphones of the same size. It carries a weight of 139 grams only. 

Processor and OS 

The Samsung Galaxy S3 Slim has been configured with a 1.2GHz processor built on 4 cores and backed by a RAM of 1GB. It runs the Android v4.2 Jelly Bean OS. 

Camera and Storage 

Coming to the camera optics, the smartphone has a 5MP autofocus camera with a resolution of 2,592 x 1,944 pixels and inclusive of features like LED flash and geo-tagging. It also sports a VGA front facing shooter to support video calling. The on board storage capacity of 8GB present in Samsung Galaxy S3 Slim can be expanded up to 32GB courtesy a microSD slot. 

Battery and Connectivity 

Connectivity and networking features loaded in the Samsung Galaxy S3 Slim come in the form of dual SIM slots, 3G, GPS with AGPS, GLONASS, Bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP and EDR, GPRS with EDGE, Wi-Fi hotspot, standard 3.5 mm jack, micro-USB 2.0 port, computer sync and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. To ensure an uninterrupted service for a long time, the smartphone comes with a 2,100mAh Li-ion battery.

Verdict

The Samsung Galaxy S3 Slim flaunts a large and rich display to offer appreciable visibility but comes in a compact body so that you can hold it comfortably in one hand. It is equally powerful in terms of performance. It would have been better if the phone carried a better front camera in order to justify the high price completely.
