With the latest Xperia E1 Dual, Sony marks its presence in
the budget segment in 2014, this smartphone is the successor model of the
Xperia E launched last year. This smartphone has same features as the Xperia E1
the only difference is that this one supports Dual SIM cards and Dual Standby.

Display and configuration
The Sony
Xperia E1 Dual sports a 4-inch TFT LCD display featuring a resolution of
800 x 480 pixels. The screen is ideal in size to operate with one hand, and has
a sufficiently high ppi of ~250. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual core processor
from Qualcomm and comes with 512MB of RAM. The OS is Android Jelly Bean v4.3.
Camera and storage
The Xperia E1 comes with a 3.1MP primary camera, which is capable of
recording 720p videos. It packs a host of features such as smile detection, HDR
and a host of manual settings, making it a pretty good shooter in spite of
having a low resolution. The phone lacks a front facing camera. It comes with
4GB of on board memory, out of which only about 2GB is available to the user,
but this can be expanded upto 32GB via a micro SD card.
Connectivity and Battery
The phone is dual Sim enabled and supports HSDPA 3G, allowing for high
uplink and downlink. Along with this, it also has Bluetooth v4.0, Wi-Fi with
hotspot, GPS and a USB port. All this is powered by a 1,750 mAH Battery, which
is claimed to provide talk time of over 9 hours.
Verdict
Sony Xperia E1 Dual comes with a host of features you can
expect in an entry level Android phone. Packed in a stylish polycarbonate body
and priced affordably, this is a good competitor to cheap indigenous Android
phones.
